So I have finally seen Rocky Balboa and I have to tell you, it’s really good. Here is a film about being true to yourself and not letting anyone tell you that you’re past your expiration date. As George Eliot said, “It’s never too late to be what you might have been.”
Here, Rocky is like the opposite of Jake LaMotta from Raging Bull; rather than let his history cripple him, Rocky finds the courage to put all of his heart into today. The characters are richly drawn, the photography is deep and stark, and the film is filled with powerful, emotional speeches that ring like thunder.
I recommend this film to anyone, but especially if you are looking for some motivation.
